These paintings are left-handed and are of details of butterfly
wings. Some species were photographed in my garden, on beautiful,
still and sunny summer's days. What a wonderful way to pass an hour
or two. I used soft pastels on velour paper which illustrates the
brilliant jewel-like colours and the powdery texture of the
