Our holiday in South Africa in 2006 was the catalyst I needed to
learn to draw and paint. The fantastic wildlife made me want to pick
up my pencil and brush and create. And our last holiday there in
2010 gave me even more inspiration... At home we are so privileged to have had Barn Owls visiting, roosting and nesting in our garden for the past few years, providing me with yet more inspiration. Sadly, they have only managed to raise young in one of those years, showing the precarious nature of the wild. They really are one of the most beautiful of birds.
